What software do I need to listen to RadioSEGA?

A multitude of players will be suitable for RadioSEGA, on the "listen to RadioSEGA" page below each option is a list of supported software. Currently we know RadioSEGA works with WinAmp, iTunes, VLC, Media Player Classic, XMMS, Foobar 2000, Nero Media Player, Windows Media Player and probably a few more we've not yet tested. To use the Web Player you must have the Abobe Flash Player. If you don't have it you can get it from Adobe's website, here.

Why doesn't RadioSEGA work when I try to listen?

First you should check if RadioSEGA is currently on air, on the "listen to RadioSEGA" page there is a section called "stream status" which will tell you what the server status is. If the server is online then it may be an issue with your connection. RadioSEGA broadcasts on port 8000 so if you're trying to listen in work or at school this may be why. If you are unsure you should consult your local system administrator. If it's your home connection you're having trouble with, post a message in the help section of our message boards and someone may be able to assist you.

Why is the server sometimes full?

Server capacity costs money so we're careful not to waste money on resources we don't require. If the server is often full then we will invest extra money to increase capacity as the site grows. How do I make requests?

Requests are simply made by going to our requests section, where you'll be presented with our full playlist. Simply click the "request" button next to the track you wish to hear. A box will popup, please wait a few seconds and you'll be told whether your request was successful or not.

Why has my request failed?

Your request can fail for a few reasons. Each user is allowed to make 10 requests in a space of 60 minutes. The daily limit is 50 requests. A single song can only be played once every 2 hours whilst any song from a game, for example Sonic CD can be played once every 1 hour. Finally a song from any game within a franchise (example: Sonic The Hedgehog) can only be played once every 15 minutes.

Why are there request limits then?

We've added the above limits to ensure RadioSEGA plays a varied selection of music to ensure all listeners enjoy the station. These limits have been added as in the past we've often had 10 songs from Sonic The Hedgehog games being played back to back which annoys a lot of listeners. If you love Sonic The Hedgehog music, don't worry - the limit between any Sonic The Hedgehog song is only 15 minutes!

There's a soundtrack that's not on RadioSEGA - can you add it?

Can I download the music?

We no longer offer soundtracks for download. Your best bet is to try Galbadia Hotel or by searching Google.
